This is an area of wetland close to playing fields and a modern housing
estate. There are some older willows and areas of new willow growth, as well as a significant area of fen.
There is a circular boardwalk route around the site.
Conservation Management
Conservation management involves regular pollarding of the willows and
should also include cutting of the fen. There is a lot of young willow, growing densely together, some of which
should be coppiced to increase the diversity of the habitat.
Directions
Follow the A34 and M40 Northbound to Junction 11, then take the A422
towards Banbury. Go straight on over 2 roundabouts and then turn right
onto Southam Rd. At the next roundabout turn left and the site is almost
immediately on the right. The van can be parked on the wide grass verge.
