Spiceball Country Park, BanburyStreet Map

Spiceball Country Park, Banbury
Managed by:Banbury Town Council
OS grid reference:SP 458 416
Nearest postcode:OX16 3JJ
Usual work:Coppicing, scrub clearance

A country park close to the centre of Banbury. The park includes ponds, and meadows which are cut once or twice a year. There are also numerous areas of rough woodland and scrub.

Conservation Management

Management at present mainly involves periodic cutting of the meadows by contractors. In future it is hoped that coppicing of both the areas of newly planted woodland and neglected coppice woodland will help increase biodiversity.

Directions

Take the A34 and M40 north. At Junction 11 follow the A422 towards Banbury. Go straight on at the first roundabout and then right at the second. Turn sharply left twice to end up in a free car park. The country park is accessible through an underpass under the main road.
