| Today we're clearing scrub from the fen.
Brambles and willow/hazel/birch regrowth is taking over in some areas...
...and shading out the fenland species.
We're also removing the brambles which have engulfed the fence.
Lunchtime
The fence line is now clear of brambles...
...and we concentrate on clearing the fen.
Towards the end of the day most of the bramble has gone...
...and the hazel/willow/birch has been coppiced.
Final clear up...
...as we stack most of the brash well away from the fen, wedged behind trees on the woodland slope.
Probably Scarlet Elf Cup (Sarcoscypha austriaca or coccinea)
This part of the fen is now much clearer...
...and the fenland plants will be able to flourish.
The walk home.
